So far the tourists seem to like the touristy places to eat... Check out Buzzard's roost at 106, the Key Largo Fisheries back yard (paella thursdays & saturdays) at 98, Wednesday flip night at the Ocean View in Islamorada. The best cuban sandwich on the island comes from Publix and if you want a good steak or burger I'd suggest a destination with fields and cows (bring your own meat - anything not from here sucks from the store). I'll leave my actual favorites off so I can still get a table.

Italian Food Company's pizza is very good, Buzzard's Roost is a good lunch spot if you have a longer surface interval (can sit and watch the manatees in the canal). Hobo's Cafe was already really good for lunch (the seared tuna salad was massive).

I thought Bayside Grille was pretty overrated and also wasn't that impressed with Mrs Mac's.

Nobody mentioned Pilot House? Used to be really good. Is it still worth mentioning?

Very surprised that I did not see a mention of Arthur's Island Kitchen: Arthurs Island Kitchen

Tried this for the first time on my last trip a few months ago. Had the jalepeno crusted snapper, it was out of this world, as were the Jamaican beef patties.

STRONGLY recommend you try this place out.

Well now ya'll have done it... I am going to have to go to New Orleans before I go to the Keys this fall. Love me some Crawfish Etouffee, and all types of Gumbo.
Did the "Gumbo Shop" on St. Peter survive the pandemic?

Do yourself a favor! If you want great CAJUN food like Crawfish Etouffee or Gumbo, stop by Cajun Country - the Lafayette area - on your way to New Orleans! There's a distinct difference between our true Cajun cuisine and the Creole cuisine of New Orleans :stirpot:

I enjoyed lazy lobster, although I had eaten at shipwrecks at the HD dock earlier that day so a battery would’ve tasted good…

If you're not time pressured, Buzzard's Roost is infinitely better, but definitely too tight if you're doing morning and afternoon w/ HD! Hobo's Cafe is by far my favorite spot w/ the outdoor patio and great food.

I'm not into the bar, so eat upstairs from Sharkey's Pub at the Galley Restaurant. Same menu and happy hour as downstairs. Good, friendly service. Many tasty things on the menu, but the best fish tacos I've ever had.

Went to Sharkey's upstairs this week and had the fish tacos - THE BEST!!!
