You talking about a Dutch Sedula?

A more understandable comparison is that green cards aren't officially called green cards, and weren't green for almost 50 years. Yet everyone calls them green cards, even the people in the US government.

I've always heard visa used, even for people that enter under a visa waiver program.

Can you point to any documentation on a visa for Bonaire, regardless of what it is called? I really do not know what you are talking about.

I couldn't provide you much more than I could google, I thought we were in the Mexican forum because Q.Roo also implemented a tourist tax recently. But after you own property it isn't that hard in most of the Caribbean.

I thought we were in the Mexico area, because they implemented a tourist tax recently. In Mexico it isn't that hard. But immigrating to the former Dutch Antilles doesn't grant you rights to live in European Netherlands. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it comes with healthcare.

Most of the EU nations that still have overseas holdings have firewalled off their holdings from EU citizenship, I'm not sure if it is a required thing, but it seems like most have done that.

Bonaire is a municipality of the Netherlands.

Yes but it has different rules from the European Netherlands. Even in Europe, if you own property it is much easier to get long term residence permits. The US is one of the exceptions with our extremely difficult to get visas.
