My hat is off to the new port captain. Unlike the previous Captains over the last 6+7 years this captain seems to have some common sense.
When the weather conditions slacked the port opened

Definitely less conservative than the past two!

Please correct me if I am wrong but but isn’t central time GMT-5 and eastern time GMT-4
Uh, nope. Here's your correction. Central Standard Time is GMT-6 while Eastern Standard Time is GMT-5. Here is a darling clock: Greenwich Mean Time - exact time now - Time.is
so in summer clocks move back one hour, and forward one hour in winter,. Isn’t this daylight savings in winter?
Are you in Melbourne Florida or Melbourne Victoria? If the latter then I can see why you wouldn't know except that you're on Australian Eastern Daylight Time so you should still know that your time changes in April and October, but either way, have been living in a cave?

Fun fact: China has one time zone, no matter where. They quite DST so it never changes there.
Sort of. During the winter the time is the same as Miami and in the summer it's the same as New Orleans, but it's the time in Miami and New Orleans that changes, not Cozumel.
Correct, but if you live in Australia, google it.
The most common turtle seen although is hawksbill and then green.
I never have any idea of which is which, but I didn't know that we got Green turtles in Cozumel waters. They're herbivorous. Is there enough sea grass for them?

Quintana Roo remains at GMT -5 year round in the summer it syncs with US Central time and in the winter with US Eastern time. The local cell towers are synced so your phone should show the correct time. If in doubt check the current time for Bogata, it is also on a year round -5 time zone.

My Samsung phone sure figured it out this am, and I am on airplane mode. My home screen shows 723 local time and now 623 home time in Chicago.
Little breezey on the north end but I have seen a couple of fishing pangas go by already.

Another iffy day gone great! They could have easily closed the port today, but didn’t…further south, the flatter it gets, but cruising there and back was rather bouncy bouncy

14 dives and were done for this trip….it was a wonderful 12 days.

Rented a 3bd 4 bath condo at the EL Cantil 7BS. great place! Highly recommend.

Unfortunately we tested negative …guess we’ll head home.

International Hospital across from Aldora offers an Aldora discount. $23 US per person….easy Peary.

Isn’t that their price for everyone, 450 pesos (approximately $23)? That’s what they were charging everyone last month.

Maybe everyone claims to be an Aldora customer
