I have no issues with it, as long as people understand what they're getting for their money. People often associate 'more expensive' with 'better,' and new divers not familiar with these product lines may wonder they're missing out on if they buy, oh, say, a Z2 or B2 vs. a T3. Hence the occasional post asking if the whole line breathes the same. Fear of buyer's remorse.

As a practical example, a friend once rode me around in his Mercedes. I'm not a luxury car person, and the selling points of it over, say, an Accord or Camry, would be lost on me, but I recall him pointing out it had less road noise. I wouldn't be surprised if the sound system was better than the average budget-range sedan. Regardless of whether a Mercedes is worth it to you, it's probably a nicer driving experience (even if I'm too crude to notice much). The modestly used BMW 328i we used to have for my wife likewise had heated seats, a moon (sun?) roof, an iPod connection for the sound system and run-flat tires (note: those tires were nearly 4x's the cost of a set for my old Chevy Malibu, and the rear wheel drive was awful for trying to climb our steep driveway when it was icy). I don't want another BMW, but it did have some perks over the old Malibu.

So, if a diver does 2 dives, one with a B2 and one a T25 Limited Edition, is he apt to notice any functional difference?

Or is it just like a T3 (very expensive, but lighter than a B2) plus some eye candy and exclusivity?

As long as people know those answers, their money's their money.
Sorry - I did not mean to imply you had an issue with it: my comments were intended for others who do seem to have issues.

In answer to your question: Yup - the T25 is it pretty much just like a T3, but with some additional, impressively machined titanium parts not on the T3, a harder coating, some eye candy and, for sure, exclusivity! That is attractive for some people where the $2,800 price is pocket change. That is not the mass market, entry-level buyer.

In my opinion, anyone who does even basic research, would easily understand this. Therefore, I have would have no sympathy for someone who spends $2,800 on a regulator and ends up with buyers remorse because they did not understand the lack of significant functional differences across the Atomic regulator line.

Are those simply T3 parts made with titanium instead of something else? I ask because if someone has a T25 break on a trip somewhere, and finds a shop that services Atomic Aquatics' reg.s, can they get it serviced even if the shop doesn't have those T25-specific additional titanium parts you mentioned?

The buyer's remorse concern I was referring to was when a new diver is looking over the reg.s, thinks a Z-series or B2 would do fine for him, but wonders how a T3 would be better...which it must be in light of the much higher price. I agree, most wouldn't buy the most expensive one they could find 'just in case.' Just hoping threads like this one make that basic research easier when new divers run across them.

If my T25 broke on a trip I'd put it back in my bag and rent a Cressi. I wouldn't let anyone touch it outside the factory. In fact
I think you'd be nuts to actually dive the darn thing.

Looks like it has a few T3 parts made with Titanium instead of plastic or other metals: the yoke knob, 2nd stage cover ring, AFC cover and adjustment knob. All parts that are pretty unlikely to break.
 
Great piece for the display case. Much like the Apeks Black Pearl, or limited run Aqualung Mistral.
 

A friend, who collects older scuba gear, bought one of those commemorative gold-plated Cyklon 300s, at an estate auction, in the 1990s, for about US 600.00 (including a hefty buyer's premium charge); would have been less than 500.00 at a direct sale.

We hooked it up to a tank a while back; and its IP was perfectly steady, at 11.5 bar, after about twenty-seven years . . .
