I am a long distance cyclist and I do multi day rides across states and such. If I didn’t have (high amounts) of supplemental electrolytes I would never make it. I have read quite a bit on this subject and experienced dehydration and rehydration firsthand many times. It’s 100% necessary to have supplemental electrolytes. I will take my “sugar water laced with electrolytes” and have no concern for dehydration whatsoever. It has the opposite effect.
Yeah, someone made a crack here about “sugar water laced with electrolytes” and I tried to offer a quote and link showing that such was good for hydration. Cozumel chamber doctors are known to blame dehydration for hits. There have been changes among other chamber doctors and related sources about whether this was indeed a risk. It sounds good when the doctor really doesn't know what caused the hit.

I got a little dehydrated going NPO after midnight for a few eye surgeries I had I had a few years ago. I took chocolate milk to drink after I got out of each.

Did you read the entire thread? The conversation was about hydration and electrolytes prior to the Pete Seeger Woody Guthrie nonsense. But thanks for your two cents amigo! Remind me how your snarky comment relates to scuba diving?
Yes, I have read the entire thread, assume you have too. What does fluid and electrolyte replacement for long distance cycling have to do with recreational scuba diving? Don't make assumptions, we are not friends.

Get a life dude. What do any of your comments have to do with scuba diving? Maybe reread the part that you seemed to have missed that discussed hydration, electrolytes, DCS, etc. Big miss on your end. Hmm.

I have quite a bit of experience dealing with severe dehydration with cycling. With myself and aiding others. But I didn’t feel the need to dumb it down until you asked

You sound angry man...not sure why

Whether “sugar water laced with electrolytes” were good for hydration or not. They are, altho that has little to do with scuba diving to some.

The thread is about a SB member who had a probable case of skin bends after diving in Cozumel and her medical experience afterword.

Yep, and dehydration was mentioned as a possible cause as it always is.
