Actually Bronx is not an island unless you count city island, which is an island. Queens is an island on Long Island as is Brooklyn. Staten Island, Manhattan all islands

I went to an Arlo Guthrie concert a few years back. Arlo sung it and talked about it afterwards. His explanation was that Woody was told that no one would recognize Staten Island and to change it to New York Island. He did so begrudgingly.

I never said it was. I was responding to someone else confusing NYC with Manhattan. Queens and Brooklyn are boroughs on Long Island. They are no more islands than Wales is an island in the UK.
