Hi all, one more bit of information: The jam nut for the Halcyon Aura (equivalent to Scubapro R380) seems to have the same height as the jam nut for the G500 (see attached photo), which I think means it is the same as the original G250 (someone will have to confirm this though).

It seems to work great on the G500, even though it is a bit narrow and does not cover as much surface area. That's because it is designed to work with a washer on the R380/Aura. But it seems the original G regs were like that. It also provides space for an oring at the narrow end, and the original G500 spec has that o-ring on the housing side (no groove on the barrel as on the G250V and later regs).

Hope that helps...

Well I managed to get my hands on a Halcyon Halo jam nut, and it doesn't work with the S560. Looks like the 560 uses a washer and then a nut that fits over it.

Two guys in coonskin hats carrying muzzloaders & paddling a canoe...

But seriously, stealth black RIB with a machine gun on the bow, and armed personnel aboard...

No matter what you say, I’m still seeing Red Green and his nephew.

Be nice to know if that Aura nut fits a standard G250, can anyone confirm this?

Also does anyone have, local to @Open Ocean Diver, a G260 jam nut they could lend to him to see if he can machine something so we can kill off the G260 jam nut too.

Thank you.

Guys, guys, guys.

This thread is almost 3 years old and not one significant bit of progress has been made. Why? Because we are trying to make a "one size fits all" piece of hardware. Despite the efforts of @Bryan@Vintage Double Hose and @rsingler (please go back and review their input) we still do not have an aftermarket nut for a standard G250 much less the entire line of SP second stages.

How about we take a step back and focus on the most popular second stage (G250) that will benefit from this hardware and worry about the other models later?

Cheers,

Couv
