never been there. never used the dive op. but this may be the first time i have seen anything negative about the place.

Blue Angel changed ownership and it's no longer the great dive resort it used to be. And the dive operator is not the same. It's gone downhill.
What are you talking about? Eva Rasmussen has owned Blue Angel (the hotel and the op) for many years, and if she doesn't any more, it changed in the last week or so. I have spent a couple of weeks there every year since 1987, through 5 owners, and things have gone up and down (mainly down when the California Party Girls owned it and mainly up the rest of the time). The last time I stayed there was in May 2019; I missed last year for obvious reasons, but I have reservations there again this May. I was very happy with everything the last time and I am looking forward to staying there again.

Hmmm....Is this within the last 2 weeks?
I just spoke with Eva a couple of weeks ago and she never mentioned that she sold the hotel and dive Op. This was when I made a reservation with her personally.
If true, you would think she would have mentioned that she no longer owns BA/BA Dive Op when she made my reservation???

I was at BA last September and it was awesome! Just like my previous stays. I know Gordon and I sound like BA cheerleaders here, but I tell it like it is. If, IMHO, BA sucked, I would say so. (Just like I did for the Palace....which still sucks IMHO).

The BA Dive Op is just as good as other top-notch Op's I have used, not only in Cozumel, but in Grand Cayman and the BVI. You dive your gas and they will take you to the "other" sites if the boat has the diver expertise & skillsets.

We were there in October. Both the hotel and the dive op have gone downhill and we learned of the ownership change.

Hatul may have had a bad experience, that's possible, but the rest of this doesn't make sense. There are always plenty of rumors and gossip on the island, but this is the first time I've seen criticism for the property or dive op other than their price increase - and even that was not unreasonable.

Update: That worked. Thanks again for the suggestion.
I play around on FB for fun, but being required to do business there because the place doesn't answer emails is lame, huh?
