Can anyone who stayed at BA recently confirm if the afternoon 2 tank trips are running? and if yes, is it possible to do both the morning and afternoon trips? Like does the morning boat make it back in time to grab a quick lunch and head back out?
BA runs afternoon dives only if/when they have a minimum number of divers - three, IIRC - who want to go out. At least that was their policy in the Before Times.

For us, having to leave the facility for dinner is the kiss of death for a late afternoon or night dive.
I agree, but why would you have to leave? Is the restaurant closing early these days?

All things considered, I think I will book 2 weeks at Blue Angel. Aside from wanting to try SCC, having all meals available is nice. The food is quite good at Blue Angel, and if I did want to go to town, I still can.
Though it’s hard to beat drinking a happy hour margarita and watching the sunset over the water at BA. Last time I was there for a week, I never left.
As far as security, I did the valet service at Blue Angel and saw my equipment drying outside the dive shop and never had an issue. Granted, I did not leave my wallet there. With only 22 rooms (I think) staff knows who belongs and who doesn’t for the most part.
By the end of day 1, everyone knew my name.
If all goes to plan, I’ll be there in November.
For anyone wanting to take advantage of the Welcome Home package, I’d contact them ASAP.

A good thing about SCC in light of that is that it is close to town and a short cab ride away from some great places to eat.
One kilometer/0.6 mile closer but still a mile from the ferry dock, etc. That'd be the same price for a taxi ride, wouldn't it?

I just meant that it's close enough to many good restaurants that theirs not being open would not be a show stopper for me if I were otherwise inclined to stay there. If the normally AI resorts down south had no food on site it would be a bigger deal.

That can be a pretty big difference when it's hot. Plus SCC is pretty close to Chedraui.

Yeah, I only tip taxi drivers if they run the AC. I wouldn't walk that far even when I had two good knees.

Did you end up booking at Blue Angel in November?

I am there from 11/2-11/9
So far nobody has signed up for afternoon dives that week, I am not sure if the boats will go out.
Waiting until it gets closer to make alternate plans, as I would really like to do at least 3-4 dives per day vs 2.
