I have nothing new to add, but am posting in case Shearwater is following along at all, for any part of market research. I an convincing myself I'm being heard.
If I didn't own other DCs, the screen alone would likely make this the default dive computer I'd look at.
As a person with four divers and four DCs already in the family the lack of AI doesn't make this a show stopper, but it makes for a drastically slower transition time. If it had AI, I'd have already bought one for the wife, and as soon as she sused it she'd tell me I should have bought one for myself first. And I always listen to my wife. That would have been two fast sales for the txgoose fam.
I don't think that you missed the market. I suspect that these will sell like hot cakes. But you just glanced off the edge of my market.
PS, I also vote for the Pterodactyl next time.

Kind of off-topic, but I've read some complaints about the glare on the SW computers in shallow conditions and that it's not an issue with a computer like the Suunto EON Steel / Core. Curious what the difference is on the screens that one would have less glare. I've definitely noticed it on mine, mainly on safety/deco stops.
We received our initial shipment of the peregrine today.
it is impressively smaller than the Perdix. I think the vibration alarm for non cold water use is also a great feature. It is also slightly audible. However, I would like to try it with thick insulation and a drysuit and hood to see if it is still detectable. The buttons are actually buttons and not pressure pads. They are much more tactile than the Perdix as they actually move and sort of click.
Like the Perdix, it includes a timer and customizable gf.
Everything including the recharging pad fits in the same sized case as the Perdix. There is a spacer in the case that the detached straps wrap around with the peregrene in the middle. Some strap assembly is required with the two included screw drivers. If the rubber straps are connected to the computer in order to fit everything in the case, you might have to remove the spacer. I cannot see attaching and detaching the straps each time it is used.

Can someone post a picture of the screen layout when it's in 3-gas mode. Does it look like OC Tec on the Perdix?

I have to admit I'm disappointed by the lack of AI.
But I can totally live without it!
The price, form factor, rechargeable battery, Shearwater firmware, support, and warranty, screen, etc. are all great. I love that it has haptic instead of audio alarms.
I've ordered 2, one for my first dive computer, one for my wife. The fact that I can get 2 Peregines for the price of 1 Teric? That's amazing.
I do hope there's a future version with a compass and AI. But if not, I'll save my pennies and maybe get a Teric and keep the Peregrine as a backup?
