I have no idea what they were spraying.. I just ‘sheeped’ my way in.. although I do have to say that my hair is glossier this morning and I just feel overall ‘sexier’...
Those things are all over Mexico, but the ones we have seen look like cheap kids bouncy houses. We even saw one in front of a Coppel in Puerto Escondido last week.

This is from Steve Belmont's Facebook page. (owner of Tres Pelicanos)

Our Aquatic organization has worked with the Marine park on many issues that were thrown at all aquatic businesses last year. The main item of concern was the closure of some reefs. That closure came out of nowhere and confused and angered many people including the clients who love Cozumel diving.
AS custodians of our underwater world we all understand the responsibility to conserve our reefs. Working with the National Park together we have arrived at a schedule on when and which reefs will be closed. The reasons for closure are mainly due to spawning times of both the corals and the marine life. This schedule will help you to schedule your trips;
2020
June July--Paradise Reef--------------- Closed
Aug-Sept--Palancar Caves & Bricks and all of the Columbia’s and Cielo-------------CLOSED
Oct Nov--San Francisco and Santa Rosa (including Shallows)----CLOSED
Dec Jan---------Chakanaab----CLOSED
Feb March-----Francesca and all the Cedrals---CLOSED
April May------Palancar Gardens and Horseshoe and Delilah---CLOSED
Thank you for your continued donation support

thx for that. very interesting.

my questions are still the same. do people traveling from playa to coz understand BEFORE they book their trip that will be subjected to this ? and is there credible info out there that advises people what chemicals are being used so they can make an informed decision ?

i would also suggest that wearing your mask through there makes zero sense. the mask should not go through the sprayer and you should hold your breath. otherwise, you might wanna throw that mask away and put on another. unless of course you are ok with breathing in all the mystery chemical residue left on the mask all day.

They used to spray something through the ventilation systems of planes as we approached Cozumel. I don't remember them doing it as we approached Houston on the way back.

I remember back when on international flights prior to landing the FA would walk down the isle with 2 cans of insecticide spraying fun blast.

Well I’m having breakfast at the moment, but 2 shops told me they will be diving Santa Rosa wall today. I don’t know enough about the dive sites to know if that Is in or out of the marine park. I’ll update at 2pm-ish.

Santa Rosa is in the park.
