252 dives
Longest 4h 7min
Average 1h 27min
Total bottom time 14d 17h 26m

Almost exclusively Florida caves. Pretty active year for me, but I'm expecting it to drop off a little next year, unfortunately.

Don't know how many dives but 2019 brought me a top 10 dive with some epic Great Hammerhead action at Tiger Beach.
Then I dove Lembeh for the 5th time, and had I enjoyed it thoroughly. Then I got to dive Banka for the first time which was really fun.
On Monday I'm heading to Soccoro so I'm totally stoked right now.

54 for the year, 23 of those on trips and 31 locally. I generally average 50 or so a year. My current total is 438, all rec diving, with a goal of breaking 500 this year. I have trips lined up for Roatan in February, Tobermory in August, and Indonesia in October. My other goal is to do more drysuit diving prior to the Toby week so I get more comfortable with it (only 6 drysuit dives so far)

My final tally was 102 dives (down from 204 in 2018) across 6 different sites, all in Sydney, Australia. The diving is so good here I don't mind diving the same sites week after week.

I had dived every single weekend for over 6 years until early June when I was not well enough to drive to a dive site let alone dive. I ended up missing 11 weekends all up until I was fully back, with a stint of 7 weeks of not diving. That stint was horrendous.

My average dive time was 100 minutes with my longest dive at 146 minutes. I spent just over 7 days underwater.

As I mentioned above, Sydney diving is so good. I see anglerfishes (frogfishes) on almost every dive and my record was 9 Red-fingered Anglerfish on one dive. I also see seahorses, Weedy Seadragons, pygmy pipehorses (often more than 20 on a dive), various species of pipefishes, some cool nudibranch, as well as sharks and rays; cephalopods (including pyjama squid, blue-lined octopus, cuttlefish), and so much more.

Glad your health issues resolved allowing you back in the water. Great list of characters at your local dive sites!

113 dives in 2019 for me. 4 international trips (including 2 liveaboards), the rest local diving. Hoping to spend more time getting to spots in the US farther from home this year.

I had a good year in 2019 with 202 dives/217 hours, 4th year in a row with >200 dives. I visited Bonaire twice and did 88 dives. I did 6 dives in Cabo San Lucas before going on the Nautilus Explorer to the Revillagigedos, with 19 more dives. I did the other 89 dives in SE Florida, Boynton Beach, Jupiter, and West Palm. I missed a fair number of dives in Florida this year due to adverse conditions.

There were many highlights. I dived with 5 dolphins on a solo dive in Boynton in January. My wife and I had a fantastic encounter with a Great Hammerhead in Boynton in August. The Giant Mantas and 5 species of sharks, Hammerhead, Galapagos, Silky, Silvertip and White Tip, in the Revillagigedos, were just amazing. Bonaire had frogfish, seahorses, octopi, a great meetimg with an Eagle Ray as well as turtles and all the usual reef fish. The biggest highlight was diving with my wife, son, and daughter in Bonaire, the first time all 4 of us had the opportunity to dive together since 2004 :).

Best of luck to everyone in 2020..

I was going to say it was a very bad year for me but then I looked at the numbers.
In spite of the following:
1) dive buddy #1 having shoulder surgery and missing 1/2 of the season
2) dive buddy #2 getting injured in a car wreck and missing 3/4 of the season
3) primary drysuit zipper failure at beginning of season.
4) catastrophic failure of backup drysuit zipper at beginning of season
5) low turnout at club dives causing them to be cancelled

I still managed 92 dives. So not a bad year at all.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their contribution to this thread so far.

May everyone be lucky in 2020 and get some quality underwater time in.

Nice distribution in the poll and I was surprised to find myself in the same category as most of you so far (20-49 dives, 30% of respondents).

I've been overseas for a while and am hoping to get the first dive of the year in mid next week, weekend conditions don't look too appealing right now.
