2024 can't end soon enough. Fog and large surf have kept us out of the water too often this year. I only made 49 dives this year, my lowest total in years. We squeezed in a few dives last Winter between storms and experienced a lot of gear issues and a bad case of whooping cough during a trip to South Australia, but we still managed to have a few great adventures.

Thanks for sharing those amazing macro's. Your skills are off the charts! I soooo wanted to get to Catalina and Laguna this summer, but my back had to be fixed first.

Actually from 4th-of-July to middle October before Halloween -I saw the best and most consistent visibility conditions of 50' or better, with good to excellent water clarity, both frontside and backside Catalina (four Farnsworth divetrips in that timespan); and San Clemente/Santa Barbara Islands -aboard the diveboat Pacific Star. Nearly every weekend I went out: don't remember having such a consecutive good weather/benign sea state/great viz streak that long, for the mid-summer into early fall season.
