Freedom plates and VDH wings are made in USA.
The webbing and other soft materials I’m not so sure.
I am sure more BCD's and wings are made in China than freedom plates or VDH wings are made...

Another poster commented on zeagle BCD, that has been a few years since made in US. They were made in China for a time, now mostly Vietnam.

Back around 20 years ago (1999 or 2000) I saw a new Halcyon wing in a divestore that was supplied from Halcyon through BTS - marked "Made in Haiti".
Really gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling as I bought another DiveRite wing.
For years after that Halcyon wings were not marked with the name of the country where they were made.

You sure about VDH wing?
Yep-made in the USA
Store | Vintage Double Hose

While it is my preference to support companies in the US, I would have no qualms in recommending this wing if it were made somewhere else. I have two and find the build quality to be excellent. I can say the same about the Freedom Plate too.

Where is Halcyon wing being made nowadays? Is it not in mainland China?

Buy Canadian.

For the life of me I can’t figure out how to incorporate maple syrup, beer and hockey pucks into my dive gear...

Nice. Being made in USA and still keeping cost low is a hack of operation. Great job.

As for Freedom plate, I sure agree. I have seen a few in Monterey, it is jewelry. Amazing design and workmanship. Will sure get try to get one in future.

As far as I know, they were all made in High Spring Florida these days.

I think Oxycheq is also made in USA.

Like I said though, I don’t know where webbing is made, probably China. Buckles too, hard to say. D-rings and keepers? Velcro?
The outer denier shell material for wings?
It would be really tough to source every strap, nut, bolt, screw, fabric, etc. entirely from the USA.

Part of the reason so much stuff went overseas is A) cost of production, and B) tightened environmental regulations in the US.
They made it very difficult for manufacturers to operate in US, especially in CA.
China has no environmental rules but what people fail to realize is that
pollution eventually circles the globe anyway.
