I am getting back into diving again and I am trying to pick up some stuff to use for right now until the dive shop I will go through to get my other certifications done finishes up their process to be able to let veterans use our education benefits.

Anyway I am looking at a Scubapro Mk11 with a R395 on it and Scubapro Mk25 with a S550. I have been trying to read up to see if these could be set up as a first, second and oct. I am also trying to see if these are still able to be serviced and about how much these would be worth. Any information and help would appreciated as I would like to know if these would be good to use for a little while so I can get back into water and play around.

You have everything you need to get diving. I would dive the MK25 with the S550 primary and the R395 octo. The console with the SPG, depth gauge, and compass would be just fine to start off. There's nothing wrong with the MK11 or the other SPG. All your regs can be serviced. 1st upgrade would be a computer.

Thanks for the info and help. I was thinking I could run the set up like you said but something just wasn't clicking in my mind for some reason. I am only going to use this for a little while until the shop I am go to go through wraps up getting there certification from the VA for veterans to use their educations benefits to cover all of our certifications. When that is done I will end up getting all new gear together to use in my classes.

You don’t need new gear. That’s a great regulator set that will last you a long time. Spend your extra $$ on a decent computer and other gear.

You could do worse than diving those three regs for the rest of your career. Known, solid designs. Service centers worldwide. Lots of spare parts available.

Be sure to rinse the inside of your Mk25 religiously after dives. Floating sand/grit can get stuck near the edge of the piston and scratch it inside the next time you pressurize. Buy a squeeze-bottle with a tip you can fit in the holes on the side of the reg, and flush it well. I've still got an earlier design (Mk10) from the 1980's that is still divable with good care.

As a diaphragm reg, the Mk11 doesn't have that risk. It, too, has great performance, and there's nothing wrong with making that your primary first stage. The piston vs. diaphragm wars have been going on for decades, lol!

Aren’t Halcyon regulators better performing and cheaper?

OP is in South Georgia. If I’m correct about the geography, getting service on ANYTHING especially H will be pretty tough.

Thanks guy's as I am working out a trade with the person that has these and from what I have told these were not used much at all and that the owner passed away so the person that has then doesn't dive and does not need them. I figured I would try and get them and se them for a little while.

Yes I am in south GA which is nice as I have FL where I can go dive just about anywhere from river's, lakes, springs and the ocean.
