Are the Apeks, Aqualung and Hollis internal O-rings mostly silicone? They seem too soft and glossy smooth to be Viton even though different Duro hardnesses are available.

Apeks uses EPDM o rings.
 
That explains why some O-rings have a light blue color when I open the regulators. What is odd is the replacements in the kit I purchased five years ago are all black. None are blue.

The manufacturers change the colour of o rings to suit themselves, there's no rhyme or reason to it.
