unless you have went thru the whole IDC/IE process would be impossible to discuss any point.

On the contrary, I found it quite possible. Easy even.

I'm sure you saw where I based my conclusion on the foregoing discussion. If I'm wrong, say so; I'm happy to be wrong. I didn't join the discussion to make a point (something I agree I am not qualified to do), I joined to clarify what others have said in hope of quelling unnecessary disagreement (something anyone is qualified to do).

I can see you commenting as a observer but with your limited dive experience I have one question for you- have you read both the PADI Instructor Manual and PADI Guide to teaching. If answer is no would make it impossible to comment on PADI standards or suggestions during the IE process.

Let's say during my IE, one of the "students" is to perform the scuba kit removal and replacement at the surface. They are assigned the problem of not having a snorkel or regulator in their mouth. Because of the way I was trained, I don't catch that.
That would not assign that problem, because it is not a requirement. They might assign the problem of a student not handling it in such a way that he ingests some water, in which case you would provide a solution. Your solution might be to keep the snorkel in your mouth. Depending upon the circumstances, there would be other suggestions that would work as well.

But man, do you ever get unhinged at any criticism of PADI, no matter how justified. I’m not referring to this thread, but whenever I see anything on SB or FB, I wonder when you are going to chime in. It is never long.
I only step in like this to refute false information. I am myself critical of PADI in a number of areas, and I have been quite outspoken about those areas.

I am a defender of the truth. It bugs me when people make points by saying things that aren't true in order to score attacking points. Sometimes these people are simply mistaken; sometimes they are deliberately lying. It can be hard to tell the difference. I usually simply provide correct information in a friendly way. Many people are happy to get the correct information and thank me for it. If, on the other hand, their primary goal was not to give accurate information but was rather to attack and ridicule, it can get bad. When they happens, they usually dig in and start inventing evidence, scratching and clawing in defense of their initial attack. The really interesting ones come when you provide evidence (say, a direct quote from PADI headquarters) that would convince 99% of a reading population and the person does not accept it while providing no evidence to refute it. Then you know you are dealing with someone hard core.

I'm sorry that I feel I have to be that way, but I will step in when people say things that aren't true. I am sorry that you are offended by this.

Oh, John, I'm not offended. Come on now. Never did I say that. But I am more entertained by it. You are hardly the defender of truth. Shall we go back over the TDI standards?

You know quite well that I have brought up some legitimate points. However, you dance around those items. I don't know if you accuse me of inventing stuff up. That's okay if that fits the world you live in.

how did a tread on IE pass rate all of a sudden switch to TDU standards?

Let's talk about the thread with the TDI standards. Go back and look at what I wrote. I said clearly that it had been 2 years since I had dropped out of TDI, and I did not have my standards with me. I said I was going from memory. When someone produced standards that showed I was mistaken, I admitted to being mistaken.

That is the second time in this thread you have brought that up to mock me and ridicule me. Apparently that failing makes me beneath contempt in your eyes. I'm sorry. It was the best I could do under the circumstances, and apparently I failed miserably.

No John. It is to refute your claim to be this "defender of the truth." If you think all of this is to bash PADI, you are actually mistaken, but I doubt I can change your mind. I think the PADI guide to teaching is a good, useful document that is supportive of standards.

It blows my mind to be told that it doesn't.

Here's why the snorkel/regulator out of the mouth is valid thing to catch. If a diver has to take off their scuba kit in the water that is a bit choppy to say get back into a small boat, a snorkel in the mouth is an important thing to have, yes? That's why there needs to be a consistent ... dare I say it ... standard.

I think PADI got it right with the guide to teaching. I would hope that all other agencies have something similar of value.
