Basically the transmitter adds to the mainspring pressure to resist the HP valve from opening. Increasing the spring pressure forces the reg to Increase its IP to "balance' this increased pressure. Without the hydrostatic transmitter spring pressure, and consequently IP, will be constant.

Cheers. So removing transmitter will create the effect I want but still leave it sealed? That being the case I wonder why N@90 created such a device?

Thank you. I will try such an experiment. I shoy off an email to N@90 enquiting. This could well be the solution I'm looking for. Nice.
I know you are quite comfortable with DIY projects. I think you can make your own insert over the diaphragm cap/spring adjuster. You can make something shaped like a bottle cap so that the height of your insert wont be dependent on the spring adjuster height :)

Cool, I'll see what I can come up. Thanks a lot for your help, appreciated.

Hmm. It could be more complex. It has an O-ring. I'm not sure if it actually seals or just hold it in place. But I think if you can support the entire enviro diaphragm, it should work.

This from N@90:

"we make an IP plug to fix the intersatage pressure but we only make it for the apeks DS4"

Given the parts are interchangeable, I've done it currently using US4 parts to convert my FSR to unsealed, I see no reason this device would not work.

Yes. The beauty of Apeks regs :)

Everything north of the valve lifter is the same. I see no reason that this would not be compatible. I'll order one and check it out. Thanks again.
