I found it hard to believe that the diver would switch from CCR to OC bail out and then penetrate a restriction at 80m+. Very strange dive plan but then what do I know?

Very very SAD indeed.

Stuck on the way out is my guess.

His CCR was in the Room of Dreams, far from the next restriction on the way out, which would be near the Pit, if I would venture to guess.

If he got stuck in the revelation space restriction and took it off to pass that restriction of course it was found there. My hunch is that he pushed it in front of him to get out, then lost contact with it.

That's a good possibility. Just thinking of how he managed to hold the 95 bailout bottle on one hand & push the CCR with the other hand thru the restriction.

So, why would he remove the good & functioning CCR then?

Either stuck on the way out, or on the way in with an abort & turn-the-dive call.

The pertinent question is why Diver2 couldn't find & retrieve the CCR and/or at least -the critical fourth 95cf bailout cylinder- after passing through the Revelation restriction; pushing the dismounted CCR/bailout 95 tank unit through ahead of him as he was clearing the restriction. . . IOW, given silt-out conditions, how did he lose contact of the CCR & 95 bailout at the entrance to the restriction (?)

Maybe he was pushing the 95 and pulling the rebreather et al?

Another good possibility. Being plastered on the ceiling due to the positive buoyancy, it would be easier to do.

Fwiw you don't really have to be in constant contact with gear when negotiating a restriction. It's not going to go anywhere since the space is so small.

Whether the ccr was in front and the 95s were behind, or vice versa, or something else isn't really all the relevant IMO.
