Does Mexico require 6 months left on your passport before it expires in order to enter Cozumel?

Putting off renewal as long as I can. I'll still have 3 months left at the time of my trip.

I have heard it both ways - personally I wouldn't risk it......

I thought i saw a story here on on TA about someone who was denied entry over it....anyone remember?

Given that the normal Mexico tourist visa can be good for up to 6 months there may be some truth in that. However, the standard procedure is to grant a 30 day visa on entry.

But I am sure that if you only ask for a week or two and have 5 months left on your passport there should be no problem.

Decided to go ahead and do it after my June trip elsewhere and before my Coz trip in October.

Just need to put a sticky note in to remind me. Memory cells fading fast every day.

I'm not sure how flexible the policy is, but according to this Mexico does require more than 6 months left on your passport to enter.

Thanks for the info, I am in the same boat for our fall trip. The good news is, most of my pages are all full!

Just what I was looking for. Thanks!

I had to check into it last fall, still had it bookmarked for some reason.

I can tell you that they were okay with a passport that expired 6 months and 4 days away upon my entry into Mexico for a 7 day trip :)
