I have a couple of older (pre HP) G250s. Both have the older venturi vane, however both venturi vanes should have a c-clip to secure them in place. One was missing altogether, the other one corroded in half. Does anyone have a couple of these clips for sale or trade or better yet a McMaster Carr part number they KNOW would fit?

Thank you,

couv

Been watching this thread waiting for one of the gurus to step in. Seeing no other replies, here's what I have:
20130724_223425.jpgIt's probably too good to be true, but 0.255" across the narrowest waist I could measure looks awfully like a plain ol' 1/4" circlip. Thickness is 0.025". Hope this helps. I may go diving into McMaster Carr, but their catalog is just too immense to think about.

Cheers!

{Not too many minutes later}...well, this wasn't so bad.
I don't KNOW this will fit, but it sure looks awfully close:

$8.53/25 pieces (stainless steel).
I also ordered the 9/32" circlips 98808A335 just in case. They fit a groove of 0.247", so we'll see which is better.

Well, heck! I was balancing the circlip on my lap while I typed, and when I looked down, it was gone. I can't find it ANYWHERE, lol! Send me your address and I'll send you a few when I get the order in, if they fit, that is. :shakehead: I don't mind the $8, but the shipping just irritates me. :(

It was sitting edge-on in the caliper. Duh!
Oh, well. I'll soon have 50 circlips, of which hopefully 25 will fit G-250 venturis (into the next century).

Hello Rsingler,

Actually, I did order some 9/32" clips from McMaster....they fit well but then I realized the clips I ordered were not stainless. I believe you are correct that the part number should be 98808A335

I've had this problem and ended up getting new venturi vanes, and the newer models don't take circlips, they just snap in. A crappy solution, but that's what I did.

Well, couv, we're close, but we ain't there yet:
Here is (in order) the original "Low Clearance Side Mount Retaining Ring" as McMaster-Carr calls it, from
The G250 (largest)
The 9/32" that just came in
The 1/4" that just came in
20130729_183930.jpg
The 9/32", not to mention the 1/4", don't fit on the vane, which has a groove diameter of less than 0.282" (my micrometer blades couldn't fit all the way into the bottom of the groove, it was so narrow:20130729_184622.jpg
That means that the correct circlip is actually a 98808A340 McMaster-Carr
which is now also coming in the mail. It's designed for a groove of 0.276", which is what I should have ordered the first time. But I never would have guessed this was a 5/16" circlip! At least now that I've popped the vane out, I can see I need to replace the o-ring. So, thanks!

McMaster-Carr ships so fast, I'll still have your rings to you in a week or so. No need to switch to those new vanes. But shoot! I should have measured the groove instead of trying to measure the wrong dimension of the ring. Live and learn! :shakehead:
I'll send you some of the others as well. That way we'll both have no use for them.

Cheers!
