Four...but will probably buy two more in 2013

2 pr of Atomic Splits
1 pr of AquaLung Slingshots
1 pr of Aqua Lung HotShots

Will buy 1 pr of Hollis F1s for wet and another but larger pair for dry

3 pairs, but only use one pair . . . first pair - inappropriate starters that I dove for quite a few years anyway. 2nd pair Volos that I almost wore out. This year diving Mares Xtreme - the jury is still out. Missing my Volos.

(now waiting for the Turtle fin guys to come and bash me) The split fin people can quit stirring up the sand in my face.

Technically 2, but really only one.

Mares plana avanti quattro's.

Was given a pair of twin jet max's the SS spring straps from which are now on my quattros while the max's sit in my locker.

I can dive virtually any brand of reg to 200 feet deep, and it will not make any real difference which brand I use for the dive experience.
I can dive virtually any brand of BC to 200 feet deep, and it will not make any real difference which brand I use for the dive experience.
I can dive virtually any brand of almost any dive gear to 200 feet deep, and it will not make any real difference which brand I use for the dive experience.

Fins are a different story.....there are MAJOR DIFFERENCES between my capabilities on a given dive, based on which fins I choose. No big deal for the "average" dive, but when things get "exciting", the differences get to be huge.
So I have tried more than 2 dozen pairs of fins in the last 2 decades, and have the following I use at the moment:
  1. One pair stiffest DiveR composite freediving fins
  2. One pair medium DiveR composite Freediving fins
  3. One pair Force Fins Excellerator model
  4. One pair Mustang C4
  5. One pair Specialfins.com BW classics
  6. One pair Cressi HD 2000
  7. One pair Scubapro Jetfins
  8. One pair Holis F1's
  9. one pair omer freediving fins

DiveR's are best for free swimming open reef dives
Force fin Excellerators are best for Wreck penetration dives
If I had to swim for 12 hours straight, like a swim in 20 miles from being left at sea, I would choose the Mustang C4's or the Force fins.

I've still got my original typhoon hurricane fins from when I started 20 years ago. I only recently got another pair, some Seac fins that look like mares avanti clones.
Other than that I've got a few random pairs of full foot fins I us for holiday snorkeling and pool work.

Over 40 years I had many bla, bla, bla ............. today I've simplfied my locker with only two pairs.

One pair of white SP Novas
One pair of Instructo Orange Nova Gorillas

Up until Tuesday, the answer was Zero. I was using a set of SB Jets that belongs to my DB/boss. SSpiffySpouse came through on Tuesday, I now have a virgin set of XS Turtles. Planning a dive this Tuesday to get them wet.

Two

My first pair of Mares Frog Plus and my ScubaPro Seawing Novas

Have been diving since 1988 and have only had 6 pairs of fins...
learned to dive in my mares plana avantis... gave them away when I bought my atomic splits (still have them but don't use them any more)
bought a pair of full foots (think they were mares too... gave them away)
bought a pair of apollos and used them for a year (don't use them any more)
have 2 pairs of force fin pros (getting ready to sell one of them as I don't need 2) and they are my go to fins now!

Two pairs...Mares Excel Quattro when diving wet and Turtle Fins when diving dry
