Not even with duct tape :D

That can't be true. You can fix anything with duct tape.

I work in a business where the customer is (almost) always right. Even when they are dead wrong you have to bend over backwards to try to please them, BUT sometimes you have to cut your losses, draw a line, and stand your ground, even if the "customer" will talk bad behind your back.

Bravo, SB, Howard.
Sometimes a "customer" is just a plain jerk, and it feels really good when you can say so, in one of the few times you can say so to their face.

Very true.

Yeah, not so much. Just say he's been refunded as requested (I thought the cite to the first time in 12 years thing was the best line in there), and that while you're sorry he's unsatisfied it's not something SB can support, for the following reasons. I won't judge too harshly because I'm not privy to the discussion between him and chrpai, but the rest of Howard's post reeks of attitude. Professionalism is rarely easy or what the other guy's entitled to, but that's not the point.

Of course, I'm pretty new here and don't pay a sponsorship, so I suppose I'll be quiet now :)

I posted that one on the HDForum a while back. It explains a lot about Harley Davidson and Indian motorcycle mechanics for those of us who rode Flat Heads, Pans and Shovel Heads, plus most of the 50's, 60's and 70's DIY auto mechanics too!

I sell a lot of atv parts and polishing on atv parts. from time to time i get the guys that can't and won't ever be happy. i refund them, offer to let them keep parts for free and send replacement parts etc. at some point you just realize they are more unhappy with life than they are with the product or service. i normally end up telling them to kick rocks.

I wouldn't hold either parties post to a standard because i would assume there were several pm's before this post. a person only has so much patience. just my .02

Asking someone to download an eval copy of an OS in an attempt to solve a problem that will be solved as soon as the OS is actually released is beyond unreasonable. Since you have access to Windows 8 and want the problem solved ASAP, why not fix it and provide the solution to SB.
Not to mention it was browser specific on top of that...
But apparently as the OS is available through MSDN everyone can get it so its to be considered publicly available despite Microsofts own 26th of october official release..
