Alert Diver | Hand Signals Quiz

Many thanks to DAN and the Alert Diver Newsletter.

Edit: General consensus is that the signal given as :lotsalove: is bogus, even if DAN claims it means "Low Blood Sugar".
This signal is NOT recognized by anyone on this or the cavediver.net forums.

14/15 (sorry, an "L" over your forehead most definitely means "loser"). :)

agreed. When does "low blood sugar" come up? That seems rather esoteric.

What?? Low blood sugar? Do people seriously use that?

Why not just mimic you are hungry - ie rubbing the stomach, or spooning into your mouth then point to the surface.

That's my .02

I only missed the "low blood sugar" ... never ever heard of that signal before ...

I'd just use the "somethings wrong" signal and then the thumb. Or just the thumb.

Yep that would work too. Don't get me wrong I love having a base set of hand symbols that everyone knows.. but sometimes you don't need exact details, the overall end plan would work too

Simple is best ... hand signals are only of value if the person you're giving them to understands them, and reacts to them in the desired manner. Otherwise, they just create confusion and can lead to a more stressful situation ...

So basically, everyone agrees that the "Loser" sign has never been seen before? :)
