politically conservative dive club?

I tried a search, but didn't find anything. My wife and I are looking for a dive club that is politically conservative, or at least neutral, to dive with. We are just tired of being pigeonholed as 'Teapartyer's', 'Redneck', 'Uninformed', 'Racist', etc., by the far left members in our current dive club, just because we don't agree with the views of Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, and Rachel Maddow. We aren't members of any political action groups, and we just like to dive, without having to hear what a wonderful job Obama and his administration is doing for all of us uneducated people who can't think for ourselves. Does anyone belong to a club that focuses on diving and not politics? We are experienced divers, and would like to find a fun and unpretentious group to dive with, on one or two Caribbean/Mexico trips per year. We are both in our late 40's, from Texas, non smokers, non photographers and we believe diving is a serious sport as well as fun. Thanks!

Sounds like you pretty much mean a club that has no democrats. Any other americans you would like to exclude?

Did you not read? Typical out of context quote. "politically conservative, or at least neutral." Yes, I would NOT like to be a member of YOUR club. You sound like the members of the club I presently am looking to leave.

I find it weird that there are dive clubs that are political. I always imagined all dive clubs to just be about diving, of which there is so much to talk about without venturing into politics. Now if you start talking about the environment that is a different matter, but I never view that as a political matter anyway.

Hmmm... as a card carrying liberal I enjoy dive friends who are intelligent conservatives and can debate politics with me factually with reasoned arguments and mutual respect. Sorry to hear the ones in your club may not be so open to debate. Of course I prefer to just enjoy the dives and talk about the critters we see underwater without injecting any politics (unless you consider conservation a political issue).

In Utah I'm considered very liberal. Any where else I am a moderate, mistaken for being a member or either party depending on the topic. You would be right at home nearly anywhere up here. I must be missing something since the poster is being accused of being a troll since they are from Longview??? As to the response by Dennis, certainly the least persuasive argument you could have made if you were trying to make the OP look like a "bad American". I thought it said a lot about you and nothing about the OP.

Don't you dive to get away from all that crap? If you have to mix the two, give Force-E a call. Skip has been doing dive meetings with Allen West. That sounds like what you are looking for.

When I go hang out with my dive buddies, I prefer not to discuss politics. When I feel like discussing politics, I long onto ScubaBoard and go visit The Pub ...
