I'm a retired dive shop owner still planning dive trips around the world. Working with my old shops as well. Still enjoy meeting new people. A typical trip is over 50% repeat travelers, so besides me and Sheila, you end up making dive friends from all over the US and world. If you are looking for a group to travel with. Check out our trips. We are mostly but not exclusively scuba.
About us:
We are mostly about seeing wildlife. Most of the crew are social drinkers, but not all. Smokers a few, but we stick to the rules of the boats and resorts, which are pretty restrictive. We don't do politics. We have opinions of course, but that is a closed topic on dive trips, too many strong opinions these days. So if you can't turn that off for a dive vacation, you'll need to find another group. Only thing we ask is that you are polite to local staff, and complaining is kept to a reasonable level. We generally go for "upper middle class" type accomodations and price points. No Four Seasons (except in Bali, lol) and no backpacker accomodations. That's pretty much us.
