ScubaSteve whats the timer for under your post
whats something?

The first timer was for yesterday because my son was due yesterday......he is apparently exercising his right to take his time though :D since we are still waiting. The second timer is for roughly when he turns 25 and should be out of school, gainfully employed and I can then get back to diving :rofl3:.

Edit.......I have edited the first timer because he did not deliver on his due date (no surprise there)

EPT, what did you find out from your LDS? :)

BTW, what agency are they? PADI, SDI???

Jax a couple of weeks ago which was that last time i was in contact with them i asked them about tek diving for me in the future n they said they dont care if u have a drysuit u need a dual bladder bc and i went to another dive shop called ocean explorers and they said the exact same thing

Both of them are PADI

Wow. Well, ScubaBoard - View Profile: Dive-aholic is considered one of the if not the finest sidemount instructors around, and his website doesn't specifiy exactly what redundant lift you need, just that you need it. I cannot understand why your area would have such requirements.

Any PADI folks out there that could answer this?

Do you mean Ocean Explorers, NJ's Best SCUBA Instruction, Equipment, and Travel?

yes thats them and im not sure either but regardless i would not feel comfortable using my drysuit as a second type of inflation i feel safer with the dual bladder

Ah, I understand. If that is what you wish to do, more power to you!

I honestly mean no disrespect here and am simply speaking honestly. It is possible that perhaps your 0-24 dive have not prepared you for this next step then. You are free to do whatever you like.....not like anybody here can stop you. All most people are trying to do is to make sure that there is some apparent misunderstandings of what is required and people would rather you know what is required and be able to make an educated decision based on experience and knowledge. In the end, you are going to do whatever you choose irrespective of what anybody says. No matter what it is, dive safe and never feel that you need to rush into the next step. There is nothing wrong with learning by diving/mentorship before advancing through classes.
