I'm pretty flexible about other divers' gear configurations...although I still cringe when I see other divers letting octos/gauges dragging the reef......and I'll admit I'm very anti-Sunnto, meaning I try to avoid Sunnto divers, nothing personal, it's their business if they want to get half the bottom time I do using my Oceanics/Cochrans (for the same amount of $ spent per dive) but I don't appreciate anyone wasting MY hard earned dive $'s, so they can dive with someone else.

Probably because now that it's warmed up he's out diving and not bored on the internet messing around with all the ridiculous BP/W threads. :mooner:

Sas, just remember the SAT instructions. Paraphrasing: Choose the correct answer or the most likely to be correct. I therefore was one of the 13 (so far) that voted for the 3rd option. I happen to agree with the people I'm quoting in this post (except for the comment on not voting).

IIRC SAT means Scholastic Achievement Test. It is a standardize test you take at the end of secondary education. Many Universities use it as one of the main criteria for admissions.

Yes, I got to plea guilty on lacking a more globally aware view in my comment. Sometimes it is very easy to forget that toilets do flush in a different direction in other parts of the world.

In my state you get an ENTER score. It ranks you in relation to the rest of the state based on your performance in the last two years of high school. So say you get 80 then you scored better than 80% of the rest of the state. You need particular ENTER scores to get into certain courses and this is based on demand. Because lots of people want to get into Medicine for example, the ENTER requirement is very high. Less popular courses are easy to get into. If you don't get a high enough ENTER you don't get into the course unless you are rich and buy your way in...

Haha it's ok. But fwiw, I don't remember my exams saying anything like what you quoted. It might have but this is going back ten years for me...

I live 4 hours from the nearest diveable water, and do around 120 a year, so lets start picking up the pace.

I got my brother in law a BP/W...he hated it so much I thought he was never going to talk to me...

I normally dive BP/W, but have and use a BC some of the time.

I mount ponies several different ways.. it depends. I'm pretty comfortable with almost any size tank or tanks.

Dive what you like, what you are comfortable with and what suits the conditions.

My brother in law likes the feeling of being wrapped in a jacket when a standard BC is inflated...his choice..

I have split fins, paddle fins.. you name it. I carry a snorkle, I leave it behind (conditions and location dictating).

Diving should be first about having fun.

First of all, those who are offended by this post will cite my limited number of dives - not that many. I live three and a half hours (yes, one way) from the nearest diveable body of water and was certified two years ago this coming Saturday, so I do the best I can. If the best retort you can offer is derision, well, I feel sorry for you.

Can anyone tell me how to stop pointing out that there is more than one way to dive? For example, I dive a (rear inflate) BC and am seriously thinking about BP/w, but BP/w-philes (for the most part) think that the only way to dive is BP/w - sure, your system may have advantages for you, but is it the only way to dive, especially if I am an OW diver? I dive with a slung pony bottle - that too is wrong, according to many vocal elements on SB, despite the fact that many certifying agencies recommend a Y-valve or pony for deep dives. Finally, while learning to hover horizontally has been a great benefit to my diving, I can't bite my tongue when someone posts "you should only dive horizontally."
