Is that a knob or is that a knob. Dacor. Grouse. The hex plug is for hose and spg. Slotty thing with hole is disc. Same style manifold single yoke J 8 1/4 spread 3/4 thread for 72s. If plac pack is dacor can fit two doubles bands. Beware, manifolds come in different spreads and bands need the extra welded on curvy bits. Only for the Chinese mob.

...Manifolds and bands orig that fit without stupiding around are a dime a dozen...
I'll take a dozen and pay shipping too! I'll send you a check on delivery.

Here is my set after being repainted:

Hi Gilldiver,

Great photo of your lp72 twinset!

What wing are you using with it? One of my friends said that my 30lb wing would suffice, and after having done the math, it theoretically will. Would you agree with this assessment?

Correct. My post seems naive and lacks respect. With diligence and patience whilst collecting dimes, there is still an availability of amazing usable stuff to be found at a fair price. A dozen is greedy.

Well, I'm not DIR/GUE or any other dive religion, so I mix and match for what I'm doing that day. In other words, I don’t have any ridged philosophy.

If I am diving vintage, it’s a double hose regulator, horse collar, and plastic back pack from the 70’s.

If all I’m doing is one dive with that set, or doing 2 dives with a single and that set I’ll have a 30# singles wing with an aluminum back plate (Freedom Plate). I may or may not swap the regs as I have a 120 with an H-valve set for a direct swap from any doubles set to it.

If I’m doing two doubles dives with one of my larger sets (80’s/100’s/130’s), I’ll use my 55# wing and steel back plate and just swap the wing, plate, and regs from one set to the other. These dives are almost always in a dry suit as I just get cold up here (New England USA) on the second dive.

I got them! :D They're a bit grubby from storage, but no rusting on the outside :D Valves will need some buffing up, but I bet these puppies will shine when I'm done with them :D Will post pictures. Planning to strip the blue tank down to galvanized steel, after which comes viz and hydro :D

Woohoo! Another new project for me!

Take pictures as it goes? And post here as you progress?

What will you use to strop paint off the tanks? I have a few AL80s I would like the paint removed.

IIRC, gel stripper containing methylene chloride will work on the paint, but will leave the galvanic coating relatively intact. (someone please check this...)

Then I'll need to look for the local equivalent of ZRC Galvilite.

These puppies are going back to gray :D

Still not sure about the vintage of these tanks. The only numbers discernable on them are the ff:

1(symbol)84 - date of last hydro. Located on other side of shoulder

DOT3AA2235 - steel tank with WP of 2235PSI
4845 - have no idea what this means
DACOR - manufacturer/seller
_ _ 751 PST - I asume this is a PST tank.

Not sure if the last line is supposed to contain the original hydro date, or if the 1984 stamp IS the original hydro date. I'm thinking the '84 is the requal date because the blue paint was chipped off. I think the blue paint is still the factory paint because of the DACOR sticker on it. The other gray tank shares similar markings.
