Yeah, the storms hitting socal are pretty brutal, conditions look ugly....

Holy Noah's Ark! Where did all this rain come from? It's like all the past 2 years of rain is coming down today. It never rains in SoCal - seriously only 5 rain days for me in two year here. I need my mask & snorkel to walk out in the yard.

Uhhhhhh.....living in S. Fl, there is no such thing as not being able to dive, except the infrequent weekends of wave height that will not permit the boats out. 5-7'???? Piece of cake for die hards! If the boats will go, the people will follow. :D
Its not nice to rub it in.....lucky
I get to volunteer at the local aquarium, and even though sometimes it feels like work, i still get to dive with Tiger sharks, Sand tigers, and very frisky sea turtles

If I have a time out, I work on fixing all the pesky little stuff that I haven't gotten around to. And if there isn't fixing, there's maintenance -- a lovely way to get that glow of accomplishment is to take all the double enders and boltsnaps off everything and put them through the ultrasonic cleaner, and then spray them with lubricant. Presto, easy sliding snaps!

Okay, I know I'm strange . . .

I go to the Y a couple times a week and do 1000 yards. Also go to the Keys once a month and dive for a couple days. So long as Southwest is flying to Ft. Laud and the SS check comes in I'll get by.

Uhhh.....sorry, Tanked. What you do during non-diving season far outweights what us warm water wusses do because of our availabiltiy. We are selfish, and tip our hats to those of you who do good things out of season.

My dry spells occur for a few days at a time between the two days a week, all year round, that I go out diving (sorry sorry, I shouldn't rub it in to those who have an off season :D) I spend loads of time on diving forums talking about diving and/or BS. Oh and I spend time with my diving widower partner. :)

I dive year round but I "expand" my interest in diving by reading. Not so much the newer stuff but rather older books. I have learned a lot about the history equipment and personalities of the sport/pastime that way. For example, that rebreather technology was well established before SCUBA came along; I would have thought it the other way around. There were more people involved in the development of SCUBA than just JYC. You can make a weightbelt buckle out of a door hinge... who knew?

Greetings everyone and I try t go no longer than two weeks without a dive.
I love to research and read about diving history, and all the other aspects of diving.
I love to read magazines, threads, talk at the LDS, talk for hours about dive trips to the Great Lakes, Florida, and any other place that lets you slip under the waves.
I usually find a class or specific area of training to occupy my time while not on Scuba Board that is or trolling e-bay, on-line shops, etc. My wife has stopped ribbing me about the addiction thing and has accepted it. YEAH!
Never allow yourself to be bored, the internet has made boredom extinct!
CamG Keep diving....keep training....keep learning!

Unfair!!!!! :( You have good weather and local dive sites in close proximity.

For my part, I engage in full blown weather denial to make sure I can dive locally year round ; ) 32F water... ice on the side of the river... even the fishes are gone somewhere else... I'm still diving ; ) (we had a great time this w-e) Although, pretty soon, the only option for local dives will be ice diving.

I do try to read as much as I can about diving, but I read a lot so it's getting harder to find interesting books/forums/sites. I like the LDS, but I'm not the "hanging out at the LDS" type. And winter is also a good opportunity to go ice skating, snowshoeing and skiing, not everything in life has to be about diving.

I look for indoor pools that allow diving and utilize the pool LOL
