Well, if the owners of Rock Lake were to make it more available to the diving PUBLIC, vs. just the diving Instructors, we may have joined you! :D

We did have some fun at the BH/Perch, and that is nothing unusual which is why we will be down there again, likely in the Nov/Dec timeframe.

And so will we, I think. About the second weekend.

Ron makes a good underwater scooter. It takes away some of the envy I have for not owning an X.... I think I'm going to box Ron up and ship him to Tahoe next year for the Tahoe Benchmarks. ... I'm pretty sure he can outrun that Cuda that's on the market. :D Thanks for helping conserve some gas on my twofer dive with you guys on Sunday, Ron! :)

The Venus statue dive was funny as hell to watch! It was true (semi) organized chaos. :)

Rock Lake was very nice. I've got some ideas for dive plans for next time there. I'll be showing my rock samples to a geologist next week. We definitely have some metamorphic rocks that would suggest volcanic activity and the gypsum suggests a shallow sea (most likely after active volcanic activity.)... There's been something new on every dive there so far this year. :)

James - if you need some volcanic rock, just come over to my house. :D We live on the northwest side of ABQ, right on the volcano flow of the 5 volcanos and Petroglyph National Park. (the cones are still just barely visible, but the lava is everywhere over here). I bet if you dug in my backyard about 3' deep you would hit solid lava. :eyebrow:

we live just south of Piedras Marcadas Canyon on the map.

I am here for your amusement James! :D

I don't suppose anyone has been down to BH to figure out where Burt moved her?

I'll be over there on Nov. 15th and will check. If I see Burt then or at the next time, I'll talk with him and see what the objection is about have "stuff" down there.

One of the main reasons that I spent some dinero to buy Venus is to begin placing quality objects down there. Some of the small bright plastic "stuff" looks trashy and junky. I hope no one objects to Venus and the like.

Kevin,

Do you think Burt removed the statue? He told me he was going to put it in a better spot, but I did not hang out and verify any of that.

Is Burt a driving force behind removing stuff in the hole? If so, we should get some clarification about what *STUFF* is objectionable, and why.

...and why he gets to be a driving force. Was his Sandia-based dive shop identified as the guardians of the BH by Santa Rosa? I assume Santa Rosa should be the decision maker in this, since they are the ones who own and run it.
