Hey Folks,
Some you may remember some of my earlier threads, I was asking questions about solo diving because we were lucky enough to move to a house right on a lake, with diving off a dock in our back yard.
While we still have not moved (the renos take forever) yet, I could not resist diving the lake though. Rightly or wrongly, I decided to not take a pony bottle on my solo dive - turns out the deepest spot in the lake is maybe 25ft, so emergency ascents are possible from anywhere and I felt very comfortable.
It was an awesome experience!
I spend close to 1 hr under water, and found all the things you would expect in a lake with houses. I recovered: 1 fishing rod, 1 cell phone, 1 diving mask in great condition, 1 trout net, 2 hockey pucks.
Kudos to this forum, I would not have had the balls to do it without studying all the threads in here. Now I am glad I did. While the diving is by no means a technical challenge of any sort, it is fun and its great to practice navigation and to get used to solo diving in a reasonably safe environment! And the trout are very big.
Cheers and thanks
