Quick report...Dove Alabama Point last night. Viz was ~5-8ft and water was comfortable. Saw only one baby flounder. No Jellies to speak of and a bumper crop of pinfish, grunts, and croaker. Saw a few small surgeon fish, juvenile lane snapper, and a beautiful scorpionfish. There was a southern stingray that wanted to follow us around like a puppy for a while too. My 4$ home depot battery powered light stick/strobe worked great hung from the flag in a zip-lock. I think the trick in this weather is getting out of the suit and into your vehicle without turning into a you-cicle. :) I didn't get chilly until I sheaded the wetsuit at the truck.

Waiting till later in the year?

Waiting for the right time. Perdido Pass needs more rain-free days to get clear. Ft. Pickens clears faster, probably because there is more area for the crap water to occupy there, but who knows.

The last few times I tried PP, the water looked terrible, just waiting on decent conditions before pulling the trigger.

Just a couple weekends ago there was 40' visibility in the pass according to a couple of people who dived it with some classes going on there.

Lots of runoff would have been the biggest issue from this past weekend I'd imagine...

I still enjoyed it. But then again I'm not quite right in the head at times I guess. Sure wish I knew a little more about the when's and where's of flounder though. Felt for sure I'd have seen more of them.

I see more flounder on the outside of the jetties than the inside... dunno if you rounded the point or not, but thats a little bit of helpfull info there.

That being said... its a sucky walk back to the parking area from the beach... especially when you have a full load of fish.
