I am looking for a 5mm wetsuit to be used for quarry diving and NC wreck diving. The average temperature I'd be in would be 67-75, for sometimes longer periods of time. Any recommendations? I was thinking of the Henderson Thermoprene but have been hearing mixed things. I've also heard good things about Pinnacle, but am not familiar with them (and don't have access to any in my LDS). I'd prefer one with some give to it, since a small tends to have a little bit of air gap and an extra small is obviously a little tight. I have also read that, while though it is a comfortable suit, the Henderson H2 doesn't hold up too well over time and compresses quickly.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I love my Henderson Titanium Hyperstretch, fits perfect (especially because from dive trip to dive trip I fluctuate a little bit in weight.) It is comfortable, not too tight but no air bubbles. Also it is nicely tailored - sucks me in a little in the tummy and provides a nice sleek look. I have had many other women compliment the wetsuit. I don't like to feel confined (like in a 2-piece suit) this almost feels like nothing under water - very comfy. One other thing - it dries fast, I'm not crazy about climbing into a clammy wetsuit. One negative is it is crazy sensitive to velcro, take care and it should be fine.

I just check your profile and saw you were a guy; my comments may not be valid for you, but I will leave them for other women to see. However they do make a male version.

Are you sure a 5mm is enough? Long dives, deep dives and quarry thermoclines make me thing you need more.

In any case my Bare 5.4 Velocity has served me well. Wear it with the (hooded) chicken vest and it's formidable for a 5mm suit.

For the lower end of that temp range, you will probably want to add a good hooded vest to keep comfortable.

I have both Henderson GC and Pinacle ME in 5mm. I believe the Pinacle is warmer but a bit more difficult to donn (I can not zip it up without help). The GC has quite a few years on it and is showing the wear but served me quite well. Both suits are fairly expensive (unless you can find used) but should last you a number of years if you don't outgrow them.

waterproof lynx 5mm
it's almost like a semi-dry

I've used my Scubapro Everflex 5/4 with a 7/5 mil hood in temps down to 57 degrees and was very comfortable.

Yes, Waterproof of Sweden - the best ever. they are not cheap bu they are the best and will last a long time. The fit is perfect, the sizing is almost unlimited - the best wetsuits ever.

If you have to dive wet than my vote is also the Henderson Titanium Hyperstretch. If Dry is an option for you, in water as cold as you mention, I love my DUI TLS 350 with a 100 mm undergarment (though a bit pricey).

The aquarium where I am a volunteer is in the process of replacing all their wetsuits with Henderson Thermoprene. The initial feedback is that they are quite stretchy and hence easier to get on and off and are warmer than our older (also Henderson) neoprene suits. We only dive to 25 feet so I can't say whether they compress more or less than regular neoprene.
