CARD ERROR

Odd.. I use 512M, 1Gb and 2Gb cards, various off the shelf makes, in my DC600 with no issues. Be sure to format the cards at least once in the camera before using them (I format the cards each time I put them into the camera). I'm thinking there is an issue with the camera...

I think you need to phone SeaLife, ask for Tech Support. Karl is really nice. Get an RA#, send it in. He'll look it over and get it back quickly.

Edit: Ooops, this is in the manufactures forum, not the owners forum. Hope Joe doesn't mind my suggestions.

I've had a large number of cards, always buying the cheapest I could find. Never had that problem. Had a card go bad after a couple of years, couldn't reformat or anything - but nothing like this. And the card company replaced it.

OK, I will give you my experience....

I have owned a DC600 camera for two years (June 2007 purchase). I have never had an issue with the SD card. I have purchased 6-10 2GB Transcend cards over the last couple years (CompUSA's bargain cards for $4-$6). None have failed...

My Olympus Evolt500 has been through 4 (four) mini drives and is soon to get to #5 - it is a crap shoot for card failure (In most cases, perhaps not this case) but, it is the first place to start, since these things are hard-wire memory, the cheapest and most common place of failure for any digital media...

I miss Compact Flash cards.

Kansas Dog-
My wife and I had the same problem with the same set up. It ruined 2 vacations worth of pictures. We tried all suggestions: new/different brands of batteries, different brands/sizes of SD cards, etc... Nothing ever made a consistent difference. We sent it back to Sea Life twice. They never fixed the issue. It wasn't until a random employee at a shop took pitty on us and totally fixed the issue by trading cameras with us. Since then (May) we have had no issues. My point is, forget SeaLife solving your problem (unfortunately) and either buy a new one or a different brand. It is cheaper than going on vacation again to create new memmories. Thanks again to wonderful shop employees like the one we found!

I hope Joe will be back tomorrow to comment.
