6/27/09 7th Annual Venice Beach and Birthday Dive Bash

Hey ya'll! I've been in contact with Capt. Jamie and the Aristrakat amd he has graciously volunteered to donate his boat to ferry divers from shore out to the bone yard. Jamie you rock! Since he is not receiving any $$ from this, tips are greatly appreciated.
Jamie, please consider hanging out afterwards this time for some food and fun!!

FossilBabe, thanks so much for offering to ID fossils again. I hope to have some big ole ones that are easy to ID . And thanks too for making the kids necklaces. They were a big hit last year, and I am sure will be a hit again this year.

CBulla usually heads this up, but after talking to him today on the phone and getting a lot of requests for information, it was decided that I go ahead and start a thread. So.... details...
Alhambra, June 27th Beach dive and birthday bash!
Bring a food item to share. We will also need tables and shade.
Most divers do 1-3 dives, water temps in the mid 80's, max depth about 20'.
When parking on the road, do not block the condo driveways. No pets allowed on beach.

Maybe Walter or Moteman can help me with linking this with the other thread so there are not two threads going. Just feel that some poeple out there are not aware (new to sb) of this wonderful event and something needs to be put on our forum as well. Thanks for your help.

Wow!! Looks like we've got a heck of a full house!

I'm glad we'll be sticking with Alhambra as a dive site......I really like the new cement blocks for finding teeth....all those little nooks and crannies hide some good stuff!



Otherwise, I'll say from my experience in the past, tables for setting everything up on are THE big need.....we have two card tables we can bring. Can anyone else commit as well? I know they're not easy to transport, but huge thanks for anyone who can!!

Next in line is coolers and ice--We have one that we can offer up. Joyce, got a few magic coolers to donate to the cause? Anyone else?

Finally, anyone with umbrellas, tents, etc. that can add some shade for the food is always good............


(And, who'd have ever guessed I'd get into Venice diving.......who knew?!)
