FLORIDA BOATER SAFETY EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Anyone 21 years of age and under who operates a vessel powered by 10 horsepower or more must pass the boater safety course and have in his/her possession photographic identification and a boater safety identification card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Provided you're 22 years old or older.
Yeah - its like a CPR card or gun safety class. I don't see many under 21 utilizing boats in our waters here in SWFL (it could be different in other counties though!), its predominately people older than that.

We have an amazing amount of young kids operating boats here in SE Florida. I used to sell boats and you would be amazed at how many parents are buying young kids surprisingly high powered boats.
