I know this will seem to many like paranoia, but given the amount of dive boat fires, does anyone carry a window break tool? I don't know what would work as I believe the windows on a boat are not glass. I understand that most rooms on a liveaboard do not have windows, but assuming you're staying in a room with a window does anyone have any window break tools that can be transported on a plane?

Thanks!

Recent trip to Thailand my cabin had a tool mounted on the wall right next to the door and window ;)

You can either ask if they have them or find one of those pocket size ones that sometimes have a pen on the other side.

I think that most people would have difficulty breaking one of the below deck windows with a car tool or fire extinguisher. What you buy to break a car window would most likely not work. Best to have another plan. I prefer at least a mask and torch, but that too might just delay the inevitable. I had training to get out of an upside down vessel, in the water and it was not easy. I'd really prefer a "spare air type of devise" , mask and torch.

The windows in my boat are 1/2" thick laminated safety glass. It would be much easier to just open it.

Ha ha ah ah ah ah ah ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha I was thinking pneumatic chainsaw and cut around the glass

but a travel friendly pneumatic chainsaw

I understand this is a serious concern, but you know
