Hi!

I have problem with my rEvo. It came straight out of service (they changed solenoid because it was corroded. Working but changed anyway. The unit was never flooded) and everything would be fine except I keep getting solenoid alert while diving. But tricky part: solenoid is working. The battery shows 8.6-8.8V. The device is ticking. It add oxygen both in low and high setpoint. It’s also visible in Bus devices menu. So everything seems to be working except the alert. I checked connections - they seem to be ok. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Mat

Just to confirm, the 8.8-8.6V reading is the Shearwater recorded battery voltage after it fires the solenoid? Or is that the battery out of the unit and just sitting on the bench?

Have you tried a different 9V battery. Not another from the same batch, but one from a completely different source?

My question too.

Yes. It’s a the measure after the solenoid fires. There’s no point to bench test battery in this case. rEvo put at the factory Energizer Industrial alkaline battery. When I discovered the problem I swapped it for Energizer lithium (I use them usually). But that did not change anything.

I would re-check your connections to the solenoid. If it's a newer unit, it should have the waterproof connectors from the solenoid board to the solenoid itself, which are covered by a little (silicone, I think?) sleeve. Could be as simple as a loose wire/connection and it's picking up the intermittent loss of power and throwing an error.

This is a complicated problem, there is a revo facebook page, I'd post this there. There's alot of things I think it may be, but I would be speculating. I'd like to see their answers.
