Someone posted a rumor that a fix was incoming for the Teric battery issues. I don't think there is one incoming in at least the short term. SRI's response to my Nastygram was to replace both computers. When all I wanted is assurances that we would have a fix once and for all.

But she did say that there is now a two year warranty on all batteries separate from the two year computer warranty.

1. Working with an independent instructor a lot of gear is slung around during pool session. The Metal Teric is vulnerable to scratches, as i scratched my first Teric on day 1.

2. Can not hear the alarm, which I use a lot for our scheduled activities.

3. Visibility, Teric not as good in direct Florida sunlight.

Again, it is not that the Teric is a Bad Dive computer. The Teric is Marketed as :" The Watch that Transforms you", and in that , was a selling point for me, which I do not believe they accomplished.

Now i figure I can just use a Perdix maybe even a Petral for all real Dives, and my OCi during training and back up in the OW. I could do this with the Teric and OCi, but I do not want to keep replacing the Teric Batteries.
I concur with point 3, in really bright sunlight the display is dim, especially compared to an Apple Watch ultra, but it is still visible and the vibration is adequate.

Diving the Teric nearly daily for the past five years … I strongly disagree with #1 and #3. Zero band or body scratches or any of our Terics. Not having good hearing, we have audible alarms off and only use vibrations, those are felt 100% of the time. on Bonaire with sunlight, especially shallow with lots of sand reflection, visibility has always been excellent at high power.

I hear the audible alarm even through my hood.

Well here goes nothing. Going to introduce them one at a time.

My first Teric had a black screen. That would have ended the dive if I didn't have a backup AI computer. It was repaired. The AI antenna went out. That would also have ended the dive without the backup. This was replaced.

My second Teric had a bad battery and was replaced. That was just a nuisance.

My third Teric had an antenna failure and was replaced. Again, would have ended the dive without backup.

My fourth Teric had a bad battery and was replaced, another nuisance.

My fifth Teric had a bad battery and was replaced, another nuisance

My sixth Teric flashed like the flashlight function before turning off. Neither Dive-Tronix nor Shearwater had seen this before and electively replaced it. I don't know if this would have affected performance I have not heard back from Shearwater yet regarding their diagnostics.

My seventh Teric just had an antenna failure and will be replaced when I return from a non-diving family vacation. This required a backup.

My eighth Teric will be perfect :)

So, at least 4 of 8 problems I have had required a backup not to have affected the dive.
