Jupiter Dive Thread

Never thought I’d say this, but I’m ready for winter diving so the water will warm up.

It’s funny because the surface temps are about as warm as we get in Jupiter and the bottom temps are about as cold as we get.

We had water temperatures between 86-88F this past Wednesday night on a blackwater dive off Riviera Beach. That was over 700’+ bottom in the Gulf Stream, with a mild thermocline at ~40’ that felt like air conditioning compared to the upper layer. Stayed consistent like that over 8+ miles of drift.

Crazy warm. Will be interesting to see if migration patterns are impacted this fall.

Similar conditions today. 71 on the bottom. 30-40 feet of viz on the wreck trek. Strong North current. 30+ Goliath on the Bonaire.

And reports yesterday of 70degrees on the very shallow MG111. I'm diving tomorrow north WPB. I gotta find some weedlines=bottom current=warm water. Thank you & appreciate the conditions reports to help the rest of us make a plan !!!

Went to the MG111 yesterday, modest current and not great viz; a few Goliaths stacked up but not spectacular. 81 on the bottom

30 ft vis moderate to strong current warm and kalami boat is reporting lost diver to coast guard. Cg says diver has white wetsuit black tank. North east of Jupiter inlet. Flat calm seas unlimited visiblity

Edit: Well they fixed it to white tank at least
