I was in "full cave gear" before I took Cavern. And I took Intro and Cave 1 in the same equipment.

From cavern to apprentice (so far) in full cave gear. It was an easy transition from wreck diving.
No reason whatsoever not to.
In my mind if you have to ask that question then you already know the activity isn't for you. It's like fishing for an excuse to do something half assed.
It seems to me taht if you are going into a cave, whether as a student or a certified diver, you should be properly equipped. My instructor quite rightfully required it.
Since my intention was to go on to Full Cave it never occurred to be to not be in "full cave gear" from the beginning.
What's this "Cavern" thing you speak of? And why would I have taken it before my Cave 1 class?
No equlivant in GUE land. You go straight to Cave 1 <Which is not considered Full cave by Ginnie, FYI> I believe it covers basic line handling in OW and in the cavern zone, gas planning which is Done in Fundies, and not sure what else.
Im just planning to do Cave 1 after Tech 1, and use 30/30
