Man.... I wear a 3/2 fullsuit in the pool, Damsel.

I found myself needing a 5/4 full suit in 72 here in Oz. I was actually thinking of a drysuit for winter here...Fiji was 86 adn after a 60 min hop I was getting cold in a 3/2 fullsuit. Imagine whats gonna happen in a week or so when I make it home to Vancouver...The thought of 54 scares me to death. Think I may get 2 pair of 400g undies and those batterie powered socks. Somehow I don't think they are DIR though !!!

I was also very cold the last time I was in Fiji. VERY cold! However, I think it's not just about the water temp but the climate around you. An overcast windy, choppy day (more like 10 days for me in fiji) makes for some miserable "cold" diving.

The socks should be. After all, there are two of them ;)

. . . if you must ask what the water temp will be before you can accept a diving invite from a friend.

Yeah but you turn down invites when the water is over 65*. :eyebrow:
I draw the line when surface temp is around 50*

I get cold in 80F water here in miami..... i know what a wimp :eyebrow:

I think the solution to that problem is copious amounts of beer :beer_yum: ,thereby greatly increasing the capacity for thermal retention in your body. ;)

  • Cold water divers on SB talk about their gear (dry suits, environmental seals, P valves..???? huh?) and they may as well be talking about alternative steering systems on the space shuttle in Russian. God made the seas warm for divers. And surfers. :D

JamDiver,
When in cold water you're chillin, man!!!
