I'm a Fish!
For Christmas this year I am getting my father an OW class, the trouble is, I dont know what to put under the tree. Any ideas? A snorkel, a book?

How bout "Great Dive Sites" of the world. Cracking book and quite cheap

I would go with a few different presents, give him the basic book for the OW course you are going to give your father. Then put under the tree some gear and books. The gear aspect, SMB, whistle, strobe, maybe a mesh gear bag.

The books, I would look for ones detailing local diving(shore & wrecks) to your father. Find some good reference books about the local fish and invertabrates, there is an excellent book by Andrew Martinez "Marine Life of the North Atlantic". His pictures and write up is outstanding.

Our better yet, why not get your father some old DVD's on diving, Sea Hunt, 20,000 Legues Under the Sea, anything that may make him laugh..

Good Luck on gift hunting.

Get some skin gear, (mask, fins, snorkle) but keep the recipts so you can go back to the dive shop and exchange them for ones that fit.

you paying for the OW course and want something small to go with it for the tree only?

i would get a GI Joe in scuba or a t-shirt

nice gift btw!

cheers
