The Wrinkles in Absentia dive was a great time. We missed you, Ana :07: and it wasn't the same without you zipping around underwater through the tiniest openings in the kelp. Also missed was Dr. Bill, Super Ken of the new titanium leg, Jan, Stacy, Debbie, etc etc...
BUT I got to meet some new folks and nice dive buddies: Jetfixr and JDog, Dazedone, Simon, Roy (and his non-diving spouse) and Ann Marie and Jessica. And it was great to see Jim (with all his weights) & Myrna, Christian, and Sean again. Oh, and a big thanks to my dive buddy Jonathan, for making me navigate all day. I practiced and really felt great about finding the Sue Jac, the Kismet and the Glass Bottom Boat, and only missing the Swim Platform by a bit (oh well, I need some more practice).
We had 4 really nice dives (well the visibility was not the greatest, but still OK, UNLESS you were near a class...
I was warm up until the 4th dive, it was hard to warm up in the afternoon from #3 when the shadows stretched across the parking lot and the breeze picked up.
Lunch and Happy Hour were both fun, thank you Arnaud for joining us after teaching your class! Oh, and why has no one mentioned that we have now found the best use for a snorkel??
The 6:15 ferry is great for arrival time, but a killer to wake up for -- I was envious of ShakaZulu and Ann Marie who stayed the weekend on the island! And I cannot figure out WHY it took so long for the truck to come get our gear! That took away from some of the fun as Sean and Simon had to rush through one drink to catch their ferry to Dana Point

.
My favorite parts of the dives were the Sue Jac, the huge lobsters, the large schools of baitfish over by the swim platform (at one point we were almost entirely engulfed), and the kelp bass that just sit in front of your face, staring you down! What are they thinking?? We missed the giant black sea bass (darn!) but I did see a nice bat ray.
