Wrinkles November '05 Dive Planning Thread - Catalina Island

I just had some plans fall through, so I may be able to make this one. Let me see if my better half wants to come...last time he whined about the golf course.

From what Ken mentioned about the Hermosa (bathroom down the hall), I think I'm glad they are booked!

I hope you can make it!

Seaport Village is supposed to be a great value and they'll pick you up at the boat in a golf cart and take you to the hotel. They'll take you in a golf cart to Casino Point and pick you up and take you back the hotel when you are done diving. I think they'll even take you back to the boat from Casino Point when you are done diving on your last day, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

Looks like it's stacking up to be a great weekend!

Schedule Revision:

Friday - Arrive in Avalon by 10:00 AM. Park diving in morning and afternoon (maybe the Valiant.) Break, then 1 - 2 night dives. I'm figuring 3 - 4 dives on Friday. Dinner with CMan and anyone else who wants to use cloth napkins for a change, then a nice port on the sand to wind down the evening. Maybe a homemade cheeze cake slice from Gallaghers to go wif the port. Killer desserts there. Respectable cellar, too.

Sat - a single AM dive, then back to mainland for bogus family stuff in the afternoon. Return by 6:25 PM that night for some Karaoke fun. Maybe a night dive, but probably not. We'll see.

Sunday - King Neptune for 3 dives, then home.

I spoke with Scuba Luv tonight. Jaye, Claudette and I are booked on the King Neptune for Sunday 11/13. It leaves at 9:00 AM, gets back by 5:00-ish (plenty of time to make our 6:45 return trip), included continental breakfast, lunch, fills and tanks. It will be just the thing to keep me from going crazy diving the park for 3 days!

I booked a room at the Hermosa (semi-private bath...I can live with that). I am coming over on Saturday and will head home Sunday. If I can get some pool time in with my new dry-suit then I'll bring it with me and hopefully dive nice and toasty!

Apparently, the Sandeaters are doing their Sunday dive on Catalina this same weekend.

So, I've gone into the Sandeaters forum here on ScubaBoard and signed up for their dive on Sunday.

It looks like we'll be diving all over Catalina on that weekend!

Looks like I will be in town for the festivities. Planning for Saturday morning arrival but have not decided on Sunday yet. I have to be in San Antonio on Monday but if I plan things right it shouldn't be a problem.
