Is anyone familiar with the wreck of the "Brighty" (Brightie) off Whitehall MI? I did some research on the boat's history but have not had a chance to dive the sight. I am looking for any GPS numbers you might have and any description of the wreck's condition. Thanks!

Good luck finding it and please let me know if you do. I've looked a number of times with three or four sets different sets of numbers and have not been able to see anything on my depth finder. I just got a "tip" that it only comes off the bottom three or four feet on a fishfinder. I think the MSRA's numbers are the ones that I was told are the closest. I may run up out of Muskegon on Sunday and take a look for it, I'll post back here if I find it with the numbers where's it's at. I'm going to try and dive Ironsides first and then go and find it. Good luck and please let me know if you have any luck. I'll do the same.

"As of last Saturday there is a bouy on the Brightie, North of Whitehall. There is a white 20 gal jug 12 feet below the surface and a 40 foot long tag line off of it with a green jug on it. Thanks to Southwest Michigan Underwater Preserve......." COPIED from a search.

Wreck is intact.

And I got those numbers for the MSRA website from an old West Michigan Dive Center web site. I cannot vouch for them. The Original Poster wrote the story fpr the MSRA web site and he and I are seeking the numbers to make sure they are accurate.

Thanks!

I believe the bouy is on the bow. The wreck is broken and scatterd on a sand bottom. It is a fun dive. The bouy won't be out there much longer. It will be removed for the winter.
