I get pesos from the ATM at the official exchange rate and my dive shop uses the same number to equate pesos to my dive bill in dollars.
But...??
Don't all ops list rates in USDs? Then why pay in MXNs? And Zelle is so easy.

But what? I live on pesos when I am in Mexico; it's not a problem to take out pesos for diving along with the rest of what I need.
I knew that. Since all ops list rates in USDs, then there is no advantage to paying in MXNs, right? I certainly pay for taxis, restaurants, my hotel bill, and more in Pesos, but my diving bill is my biggest and I Zelle that.

I don't think so. I get pesos from the ATM at the official exchange rate and my dive shop uses the same number to equate pesos to my dive bill in dollars. I am out the ATM fee but it's down in the noise.

Most here are using 20:1 for simple math. I bought pesos at San Jorge just now at 18.8:1, so a withdraw rate is probably 19:50:1, depends on your bank.

It just adds up when you are dealing with 1000's.

I still charge 4000 pesos for a $200 sale - so when you pay me in pesos, I make more.

The Peso is slumping now, has been since Russia thing started - it was 19.7-20.2.......
