winter 2017/18 vacation

looking at florida for next years winter get away
this year, jan feb, we spent in arizona, i left the dive gear at home
thinking of the west side of florida, maybe from tampa south for most sunshine
would like to be close to diving and maybe if available close to shore diving
we did jupiter several yrs ago and thought lets see what the gulf side is like this time
i'm open to all suggestions

For good shore diving, look to the other coast. Lauderdale by the Sea, Dania Beach, FLL all have good beach diving. Boat diving in the area is also great plus you can get to Key Largo or Jupiter pretty quickly. The west side of the state isn't renown for its diving because the vis usually isn't as good as the east coast. There are plenty of dive boats up and down the coast and good spear fishing on the west coast but the water is cold in the winter.
