We each decide what safety equipment to carry and it would never occur to me to worry about another diver on the boat giving me a hard time. Whether it's my disproportionately large sausage or Dandy Don's snorkel vest, I would not care what anyone says.


On a warm water dive boat I was wearing a five mil full suit while everyone else wore shorties and Speedos. A guy asked me, "What's with the suit in warm water? you some kind of wussie?"

I told him, "I wear this suit because if the boat's motor breaks down and we get swept out to sea for days, you'll die of exposure before I will."
